Northeast India fossil flora

Northeast India is very interesting in fossil research. It has an exposure from Palaeocene to Recent. I have collected a large number of plant fossils which includes woods, leaves, flowers and fruits from various Cenozoic exposures. One thing is very interesting that the family Dipterocarpaceae is totally absent in Palaeogene but is abundant is Neogene.See More

My research interest is in Palaeoclimatology and Palaeoecology of Tertiary Indian fossil flora. I am presently working as a Ph.D student under Dr. R.C. Mehrotra (Scientist-E) in Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow, India.
