What is ClimateSciNet?

ClimateSciNet is a dedicated professional network which focuses on all aspects of climate research. The climate community is large and interdisciplinary, with interests spanning a multitude of research fields. The network is designed to embrace these fields and bring together students, researchers and industry professionals with a scholarly approach.

You may create searchable profiles with your research interests; start a blog; upload poster presentations and videos; post and search job listings; create open and closed discussions; form a virtual "group" based on your interests, geographical location, etc.; and view, post, and RSVP to upcoming meetings. You can also create profiles for your organization, institute, society, or even your research facility. Members will also receive free access to selected journal articles and we will be highlighting the latest and most exciting developments in the field. Here’s how to get started:

  • Create a profile: Include your affiliation, research interests, publications, and more
  • Post, view, and RSVP to meetings: Browse the meeting calendar, add meetings large and small, and see what other Network members are attending
  • Job Board: See who is hiring, and post your own open positions
  • Start a discussion: Engage your colleagues by posting a question or comment, discussing recent research or policy, and more
  • Create a group: Start or join a group based on your research interests or geographical location. Start and follow group discussions via email alerts
  • Upload or link out to a video: Post and link to videos and other multimedia of interest to the community
  • Start a blog: Use ClimateSciNet to post your thoughts, or follow community blogs
  • Connect with colleagues: Search the Network to find and connect with old and new colleagues
  • Explore, create, and build... and let us know what new features you'd like to see!

ClimateSciNet is a professional networking environment dedicated to those working, studying, or simply interested in climate science. We welcome those with personal and professional interests in all related climate areas including interdisciplinary fields; climate measuring and prediction, climate change, climate change impacts, regional climates, climate and culture, to name but a few.

We hope that you enjoy ClimateSciNet, and we welcome suggestions for improvements and new functionalities that you would like to see implemented.

Important: Please note that this is a professional site, and we take all reports of abuse, spam, impersonation, inappropriate behavior, and other disruption very seriously. We reserve the right to remove any content that we consider offensive, inflammatory, or irrelevant to the purposes of the network, as well as ban those who post such content. Please do not post material that is overly personal in nature, use the site to "publish" your results (informal discussion is welcome, but this is not a journal), or post material that does not fall within the scope of the site. Such material will be removed.
