The global chemistry experiment “water: a chemical solution”

Part of the International Year of chemistry (chemistry2011.org), this experiment is an initiative of IUPAC and UNESCO to make students of all ages all over the world aware of how chemistry contributes to water. The experiment consists of four different activities, each of which can be done by children of all ages around the world. The activities are adaptable to the skill and interests of people of various age. The experiment protocols have been downloaded 46000 times. In the end of October, more than 24000 students and 1174 teachers from 63 countries on 5 continents have shared their results on the central website. They are expecting even more people in the next few weeks and months. Results are available at water.chemistry2011.org as an interactive data map.
