Robert McLeman published this month (April) an interesting article on the Developments in modeling of climate change-related migration. This article is part of a special issue in the journal climatic change called “Improving the Assessment and Valuation of Climate Change Impacts for Policy and Regulatory Analysis” organized by Alex L. Marten, Kate C. Shouse, and Robert E. Kopp. In this article, McLeman provides a great overview of the climate- change-related migrations. He shows the inconsistency and rarity of environmentally-driven migration datasets and points towards a better use and understanding of such datasets. This is important for policy makers as they need to understand the dataset they are using to develop protocols on population movements.
